Two tours are offered; the "Heart of Lakeland" and the "Cross Lakes Ramble".
For the Heart of Lakeland, walking starts at Windermere and finishes at Keswick; return to Windermere is then normally made by use of the regular bus service for the final night. We can book a taxi at extra cost, if preferred, for the return to Windermere. The recommended way of doing it takes 7 days, including arrival day, with 7 nights spent in the Lake District. There is also an extended version which replaces the final day by two further days' walking; these can be done continuously or with a rest day between. This extension is only possible at a strenuous level of difficulty.
The Cross Lakes Ramble starts in Windermere and finishes at Ravenglass on the Cumbrian Coast. It takes 5 days, including arrival day, with 4 nights in the Lake District. The 5 days include a rest day in Coniston; by request the rest day can be in Eskdale instead of Coniston, or there can be a rest day in both, or neither. An additional night can be booked in Ravenglass for participants who prefer to delay their departure rather than catch a train the same day as they finish their walk.
